Sunday Summary #87
140 Nautical Miles on the Cumberland
Hi ,
Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 87th Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written aboard PIVOT who is anchored back in Kentucky, for the 3rd time.
Last Week.
We enjoyed taking our sweet time getting to Nashville and enjoying this offshoot on the Great Loop. The 140 nautical miles to and from Nashville were well worth the time and money. It led us to one of our favorite anchorages on the midwest rivers so far, located on the Harpeth River with some incredible views of limestone cliffs and the autumn leaves. It was quiet with only a few small local fishing boats passing us by and had excellent protection from any wind.
We left our favorite anchorage on the midwest rivers and made our way to the Music City knowing that we’d be back in a few days. This is the last time our drone was fully functional before it crashed and fell into a pile of mud. RIP drone.
Once we arrived in Nashville, we explored some of the local neighborhoods with Ollie. It was great getting off the boat, walking around, and seeing the city! The downtown dock was located next to the pedestrian bridge that lead us right into Downtown Nashville.
We had one full day to explore Nashville and we did so through delicious food and by visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. It was a short visit, that left us wanting more. We hope to visit Nashville again.
One of the things we love most about the Great Loop and cruising on our boat, is getting great access to Downtown. Most of the cities that we’ve visited so far have marinas, mooring balls, or some sort of access to Downtown that is really convenient by boat. We’ve loved having all of our comforts of home with us and being just a short walk away from all of the amenities of a city.
On our return trip back down the Cumberland River, we stopped back at our favorite anchorage and Clarksville, TN where we enjoyed some sweet treats in town. This side trip has been such a fun, relaxing, and laidback. We’ve gotten into a decent stride with balancing work, cruising/looping, and play. We’ve enjoyed the simpler moments during this side trip that make the loop and our nomadic lifestyle all worth it.
This Week.
We'll be making our way to Grand Rivers, KY, and down Kentucky Lake. We hope to make some miles and enjoy some awesome sunrises and sunsets along the way.

In case you missed it, here are all the vlogs we’ve released since our last Sunday Summary:

Great Loop Recommendations.
We are looking for recommendations for destinations and spots along our Great Loop to go see, visit, and enjoy. It's been a real challenge for us to keep track and stay organized with the many wonderful recommendations we've received thus far. So we've created a Google Form to help us stay organized. Thank you to everyone sending us recommendations so far! We really appreciate it.
From the Eyes of Ollie.
This week I got in a lot of naps. Naps in the sun, on my bed, on the couch, and the floor. We explored new places and I enjoyed new sniffs all over town. We went on walks so I could meet new dog friends in new places. My mom took me on a run with her and my dad took me on a long walk. While we’re on the boat, a lot of big boats pass us. The boats are so big, they look like land, but they’re not land.
Gratitudes.
Last night we got the opportunity to speak with two of our good friends, Nate and Alicia, from The Passport Couple, and Adam and Kathryn, from Adventures of A+K. We chatted for hours, shared stories from our lives on the move, and enjoyed a lot of laughs. Having people with a similar lifestyle to ours has really helped ground us in both celebratory and challenging moments. These couples are our rocks and we’re so grateful to call them friends and have them in our lives.
Peace and love,Jenn + Elliot
