Sunday Summary #08
Hasta luego South America!
Hello ,
Welcome to An Urban Journey’s eighth Sunday Summary, coming out on a Thursday. We apologize for our late summary, but internet is spotty and not always available. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written on a plane crossing the Pacific Ocean as we left South America and headed for Oceania. Here’s a quick recap of what happened last week and what’s to come:
Last (two) Week(s).
In the past two weeks, we had one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. We traveled to the Galapagos Islands where we explored ten islands and learned about the conservation efforts that help keep the islands so untouched. It was incredible!
Some of the most memorable experiences in the past week:
Snorkeling with fish, sea turtles, sea lions, sharks, rays, eels, and penguins in the Galapagos.
Learning about the unique ecosystems in the Galapagos and why the Galapagos Islands are so special.
Getting to know the guests aboard our ship. The friends we made were kind, welcoming, and so fun!
We haven’t posted any new vlogs, however, a new vlog will be posted once we get a strong internet connection.
This Week.
We just arrived in Auckland, New Zealand! This is our eighth country and our twentieth city we’ve visited. Soon we will be meeting up with family where will be driving a campervan around the north island of New Zealand. Here are a few things we’re looking forward to:
Seeing glow worms in the Waitomo Caves.
Learning about the native Maori culture in Rotorua.
Hiking in Tongariro National Park to see the 3 volcanoes; Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe, and Tongariro.
Do you know of anything we must do in our next destination, Australia? If so, please send any recommendations to [email protected]!
Our time in South America has come to an end. We fully enjoyed all that South America had to offer us and we left with many lessons we will carry through our lives. It has been an incredible adventure so far and we thank you for supporting us along this journey.
Cheers,Jenn + Elliot
