Sunday Summary #44

Learning by Failure

Hello ,

Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 44th Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written from the public library in Crisfield, Maryland.

    Last Week.

Last week we celebrated our 13 Year Anniversary. We celebrated by getting dressed up (relatively, since we live on a boat), drove up to Salisbury, enjoyed a dinner and drinks at a local brewery, and ended our night with ice cream sundaes. We reminisced on the two young kids who fell in love with each other, all of the ups and downs over the past 13 years, and how grateful we are that we get to experience this life with each other. We are very blessed.

We ended our week attending the Annapolis Powerboat Show. It was a great experience and we had a great time seeing all of the other boats. One of our viewers, John, even stopped us and said hello. It really caught us by surprise and put a BIG smile on our faces for the rest of the show.

Elliot has been making strides with our deck replacement project. It's been a massive project, but he just reached his half way point on our lower decks. This week has been a learning experience as most weeks are for us, but this week in particular was a learning experience because of failure.

We made a pretty big mistake with one of the sections of our deck replacement project. It proceeded to rain one evening, causing a puddle of rainwater to sit in the recently replaced deck. Finding it was heartbreaking to say the least. Elliot had to repair this mistake in our v-berth which was tricky and a very difficult task given that he was upside down making the repair. Lesson learned ☑️

Mistakes can also be seen in our video this upcoming Wednesday where Jenn gets us off the dock for her first time. We won't spoil it for you, but putting the boat in and out of gear is a lesson that Jenn will never forget. Lesson learned ☑️

    This Week.

We have another week of boat projects and editing videos ahead of us. One exciting event this upcoming week will be attending the Annapolis Sailboat Show with our friends Andy and Gwen from Abroad Reach Travel who we first met when our boat dragged anchor between Charlestown and Georgetown. Ollie will also be excited to see her buddy, Aiden, who equally loves snuggling in blankets and running around outside.

    Videos.

Our video release schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am EST. Incase you missed it, here are all the vlogs we’ve released since our last Sunday Summary:
