Sunday Summary #41

Work and Play on a Boat

Hello ,

Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 41st Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written from the public library in Crisfield, Maryland.

    Last Week.

We had the opportunity to see some family in New York that we had not seen in years given our 1 year of international travel and the pandemic. We had a blast meeting our new niece, Emma, who turned 1 year old and playing with our nephew, Miles, who is 1.5 years old. We completed our time in New York by learning a new sport, Pickleball with Jen's sister in law and her older nephew. It was a blast and really concluded our time with our family in the north east perfectly.

Once we returned back to PIVŌT, we put our heads down and have been working ever since. Between editing videos, uploading videos in the local public library, researching the methods, materials, and tools for our upcoming boat projects. It's been a very full week to say the least.

So when Elliot suggested we take part of our Saturday, which is usually a work day, to pull out our SUPs (stand up paddle boards, or sit down paddle boards for Jen), I was all in; as long as he didn't try to pull any silly business and push me into the murky Chesapeake Bay water. It was such a fun way for us to get out of the boat and just have fun! We even put Ollie on the SUPs with us and she seemed to enjoy it as well. It was a great balance to all of the hard work we've done last week.

    This Week.

We'll be filming a "What's Next? on our Great Loop Adventures and a Tour of our Boat, since we have yet to create one. Following two days of filming, we'll be making the first cuts into our decks and beginning the major project of replacing all of our deck coring. Elliot has been doing a TON of research reading This Old Boat, watching YouTube videos, and reading articles about replacing boat deck core. We may not have started out as experts on the topic of boat decks, but over the past week we've gone from novice to amateurs. Give us a few more weeks, and I'm sure we'll rise up to proficient within no time 😉 Replacing our boat decks is a bit of a daunting task, but it will make our lives aboard PIVŌT significantly better.

We are so happy to be back aboard PIVŌT! It feels like home and just such a great feeling to come back to. Although transitioning from life on land to life on the water has been an adjustment, we came up with a fun jingle that we're going to include in one of our upcoming boat videos. We hope you had a great week and are finding your balance to work and play.

    Peace and love,Jenn + Elliot
