Sunday Summary #38
PIVŌT is still floating!
Hello ,
Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 39th Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written from Jen's parent's house in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Last Week.
We're new to boating. That fact is not new. When we made the decision to come down to Florida for Elliot's wrist surgery, we did the best we knew how to prepare PIVŌT for a potentially long term stay away from our boat. Like everything else we've done, this would be our first time leaving our boat for an extended time.
So when we received a message from one of our fellow boaters we met while traveling on the Loop, we were ecstatic! Ron messaged us that he was at the same marina our boat is in and sent us photos of our girl PIVŌT. She's "aged," or more like weathered, a bit without us there to maintain and take care of her, but we're so glad to see she's 1) still floating, 2) not damaged, and 3) still white and not covered with mildew (maybe that's what we get for not being in Florida during the summer). From the outside, a few coverings flew off (photo 2 and 3), which Ron was able to secure down for us, and our biminy (the canvas top on the boat) ripped (photo 1)- which is probably our fault for not unzipping it and securing it before we left; beginners' mistake. We won't find out how the inside of PIVŌT is doing for another 2 weeks. We left her plugged in to shore power, so we're curious to find out if our deep freezer full of ice cream is a big sticky mess, or if we lucked out and the power lasted over these past 3 months.
So we wanted to give a BIG thank you to Ron for sending us these photos and hoping on board to take care of a few things. As the Aussie's would say, Ron is a legend. Ron also has his own YouTube channel called
and documents his boating adventures along the Intracoastal Waterway with his wife, Marie.

This Week.
This is our final full week in Florida before we make our way back to PIVŌT. We decided to extend our trip in Florida by two weeks so we could attend Elliot's grandfather's birthday weekend. We're excited to see a lot of Elliot's family this upcoming weekend. With one more week of solid wifi, central air conditioning, and unlimited laundry, we're going to appreciate these conveniences life in a house on land has to offer.

Gratitudes.
We are so grateful that PIVŌT looks to be doing well and we are really looking forward to returning to her in the next two weeks. We're thankful to have met some really kind fellow boaters along our travels so far. From Andy and Gwen who helped us when we dragged anchor and weren't on our boat, to Ron who checked on our boat while we've been gone. It's the kindness and generosity of the boating community that brings us joy and a much deeper sense of fulfillment than simply the places we travel.
Peace and love,Jenn + Elliot
