Sunday Summary #117

Boundaries and Balance

Hi there,

Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 117th Sunday Summary. This edition was written from a coffee shop in Jacksonville, Florida. In this email, we share details of our last couple of weeks, the Great Loop YouTube videos we’ve released, and our new Blog posts about the Great Loop and now… Van Life!

The Latest.

We’ve been working on setting boundaries - boundaries with ourselves! You see, we’re kind of “workaholics”… According to Parkinson’s Law, work expands to fill the time allotted, and when you’re entrepreneurs with no boundaries, that means all day, every day! However, we don’t want to get burned out, and Scho & Jo is a long-term venture, so we’re setting boundaries. 😊.

We’re trying out two new rules:

  1. No work after dinner

  2. Less or minimal work on the weekends

Nomadic life doesn’t always easily accommodate rigid schedules, but since we will be building out a van, we can try this out for a few months! We’ll keep you posted on how it goes. Do you have any tips for setting work-life boundaries?

We are tentatively planning to start the van build in the first week of April, so stay tuned as we share more updates. Otherwise, we have so many Great Loop blog posts planned, and we are only a few videos from crossing our wake; we are super excited to share the rest of our Great Loop journey!

The key to finding a happy balance in modern life is simplicity.

In our journey to find more balance, we’ve gone to one video a week. You can expect to see new Scho & Jo videos on Sunday! Here are the latest videos we’ve posted to YouTube:

 From the Eyes of Ollie.

I recently found my great-grandmother’s friendly neighborhood turtle. The turtle lives in these bushes, and I’ve been trying to find it to give it a good sniff. I haven’t decided if I will be friends with the turtle, although my parents say the turtle is friendly. I just don’t know what to think of the turtle because I haven’t sniffed it yet.

Look Ma’ I’m one with the turtle

 Gratitudes.

Since removing the pressure to keep up with three videos a week and letting go of our van build schedule, we’ve found less stress and more mental clarity. It’s been a great two weeks since removing our self imposed stresses. We’re grateful for the changes it’s had on our physical and mental health as we’ve noticed less anxiety and more mental clarity.

Peace and love,

Elliot, Jen, and Ollie
