Sunday Summary #110 - Giving Tuesday

Sunday Summary #110

Giving Tuesday + Our Next Trip

Hi ,

Welcome to Scho & Jo’s 110th Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written in northeast Florida. We have been buckling down, working on content for the Loop, and planning our next trip, which leaves this week!

    Last Week.

Last week, we enjoyed taking Thanksgiving off to enjoy with family. The day before Thanksgiving, we cooked several dishes, including the stuffing and corn casserole recipes from our Thanksgiving aboard PIVOT in the Dismal Swamp from 2021 with our friends Gwen and Andy. We spent the day of Thanksgiving at my (Jen) grandmother’s house. Spending the day cooking, eating, playing games, and spending time with family was all we could have asked for.

“In truth, a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.”-Marge Kennedy

    This Week.

This week, we’re preparing for a series of trips to see more family and friends. Our first trip will be to Denver, Colorado, to see Elliot’s sister Nicole, followed by a trip to Los Angeles. The trip to LA is divided into two parts: first, meet up with 3 creator couple friends for our first "YouTube Mastermind Retreat" (the fun name we call it - it’s not an official ‘thing’) with Nate and Alicia from The Passport Couple, Adam and Kathryn from Adventures of A+K, and Chad and Claire from Chad and Claire and second to see my sister and her family including our niece and nephew for the first time! We won't be vlogging the trip, but we will take photos, so stay tuned!

     Videos.

In case you missed it, here are all the vlogs we’ve released since our last Sunday Summary:

COLD FRONT on the way to CHATTANOOGA

     Blogs.

We’ve been able to crank out some helpful resources on our website in the past week, including a hearty post on the planning of Florida’s Gulf Crossing, where we share everything from travel details behind the Gulf Crossing and the Big Bend, the pros and cons of the Gulf Crossing and the Big Bend, how to choose your weather, and sample itineraries for both the Gulf Crossing and the Big Bend. If you plan on transiting the Big Bend or Gulf Crossing this year, let us know your thoughts on the blog in the comments! We also shared a post on Giving Tuesday boating or environmental organizations that we either encountered or learned about during our Great Loop. We divided up our giving budget and gave to two organizations on the list - one that spoke to Elliot and another that really spoke to me. Lastly, we share the best marine weather apps for boating and discuss the apps that we use regularly. If you missed last week’s blog post, we shared 101 Gift Ideas for Boaters.

     From the Eyes of Ollie.

I had the best day ever! It was the day my family was in the kitchen for two days it smelled so good. My grandparents even gave me some of the turkey in my bowl after they finished their meal. It was the best day ever!

     Gratitudes.

As we’ve been editing videos, writing blog posts, and finishing up some of the products we’re working on, we are constantly in awe of how great of a trip the Great Loop was. Rewatching our videos to find clips to overlay in a current video brings us big smiles and joy as we laugh at moments, are in awe of the scenery, and are proud of what we accomplished. It truly was a phenomenal trip, and we’re so grateful for YOU. Watching our videos, emails, and blog posts helps make our dream come true, so thank you! We hope your holiday season has been enjoyable.

    Peace and love,Jenn + Elliot
