Sunday Summary #10

In the Land Down Under

Hello ,

Welcome to An Urban Journey’s tenth Sunday Summary. This edition of the Sunday Summary was written on the couch of our airbnb in Sydney, Australia. Here’s a quick recap of what happened last week and what’s to come:

Last Week.

In the past week, we rang in the new year by watching the Sydney Harbour Fireworks. It was a bucket list item and we are excited for what 2020 has in store. Here are a few highlights from the last week:

  • Exploring Manly. We took a ferry boat out to the area of Manly where we hiked Sydney Harbour National Park and were blown away by the amazing skyline views!

  • Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. We hiked 3 miles from the world famous Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach on the hottest day of the week. Although it was hot, we were cooled from the ocean breeze as we took in all of the beautiful scenery.

  • The people. We’ve been blown away by the kindness several people have shown us along our travel in Australia.

Last week we released one vlog, which you can access here if you missed it:

This Week.

We are continuing to explore Australia with our family. We are so excited to explore more of this country and see its beauty. Here are some of the things we’re looking forward to:

  • Taking a road trip along the eastern coast of Australia with our family.

  • Traveling to Port Macquarie for two nights and stopping to see Byron Bay.

  • Exploring the City of Brisbane!

In the midst of all of the fires throughout Australia, we’re grateful for all of the volunteer firefighters who have risked their lives, rescued people, and saved animals lives in the midst of danger. Despite the burning from bushfires, we are happy to say that we are safe.
